Over the last couple of years, my Nashville friend group has developed an obsession with the enneagram. (If you're thinking "ennea-what?" rest in knowing it's the coolest, most holistic personality typing system in existence. Also, rest in knowing I'm biased.)
Every group hang sends us running down our enneagram rabbit trail, whether our conversation began with relationships, job opportunities, or even what we ordered for brunch.
To give you a simplistic picture, the enneagram presents nine distinct personality types based on motives and fears. In theory, every person's personality type was determined by age 5. I believe enneagram beats out most other typing systems because it accounts for changes in stress and growth, describes a variety of health levels, and stays the same whether you are at work, on a date, or home with family. Here's the structure of the typology:
(If this sort of thing interests you, I recommend taking a free enneagram test, reading up on the different types, and listening to The Road Back to You podcast.)
Anyway, I'm a 7 (The Enthusiast) on the enneagram. This means I'm a high energy, extroverted lover of celebrations. I look for any excuse to throw a party, so naturally, one night I decided to host a bourbon-based, enneagram-themed cocktail party in my home. The menu was a hit! As a result, I began building more themed cocktail options.
This hobby serves as a creative outlet for me in between developing brand statements, ad copy, and marketing campaigns. And even though my menu builds are not directly applicable to my marketing projects, I hope you'll identify the creative skill set I can tap into for future content marketing initiatives.
If you'd like to save the following photos and host an enneagram-themed cocktail night of your own, feel free! Just make sure you leave my URL on the photo and tag me in any Instagram posts (@cristy_lynne). I've found that guests appreciate having the drink options available on their phones, so you can send a group text or airdrop the menu as your friends walk through the door.
See below for two of my enneagram-themed cocktail menus + a special edition Basic White Girl-themed menu. (Please keep in mind that I'm not a professional designer.)
